MATTHEW, 9:23-24
And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.

See? Even back then, JC had 'em rolling in the aisles. The "FUN WITH JESUS" cartoon is not meant to offend, nor is it intended as humor by way of sacrilige. Quite the contrary, actually.Jesus, if we are to believe the accounts of him as portrayed in that book that everybody is so enamored with(what the hell was the name of that book? It escapes me for the moment) was a guy who hung out with "publicans and sinners." His best friend was a prostitute. He had long hair, and he freaked out the establishment.

My kind of guy.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'll state straight out--I am NOT a christian; but please understand that after reading all the Gospels, and many of the Apocryphal texts,I hold the character of Yehoshua Ben Yosef, Jesus of Nazareth, in nothing but the highest regard. I think, if he were around today, (and, providing that someone was on hand to translate them into ancient Aramaic), he'd get a kick out these cartoons.

I hope you do, too.

Used to be that lepers were like the homeless in NewYork, circa the mid 80s. But JC was sort of like Rudy Guliani; when he was around, they went away.

The Bible is constantly open to misinterpretation. Oftentimes even first hand witnesses hear not the words, but only that which they wish to hear. JC sets one such sort straight.
